We are thrilled to announce that Asharq News has been named the Telly Company of the Year! Each year, this special honor recognizes the organization with the most success in the Annual Telly Awards competition, across Gold, Silver and Bronze. This year, first-time entrant Asharq rose above a record-breaking field of almost 13,000 entries to claim the spot. As a young news organization with an established global reach, judges at the Telly Awards were impressed by the breadth and depth of Asharq’s visual and journalistic reporting.
Asharq News is a Pan-Arabic 24/7 television channel and news portal with a focus on regional and global economics. Established in 2020 and powered by Bloomberg and Asharq Business, their team has access to more than 2700 journalists and financial and economic analysts around the world. Winning work included the “Asharq Business with Bloomberg Tech+ Show” in Video Journalism, “Asharq News Conflict in Dafur Story” in Explainers, and the Show Opening Segment for “COP 28,” the U.N. Climate Change conference. The team demonstrated ingenuity embracing new storytelling formats, engaging with emerging technology, and using classic techniques to feature diverse points of views.
The Asharq team truly went beyond the frame to tell impactful stories across multiple genres, from Immersive & Interactive to Television and Social Media. The Asharq team unlocked deeper layers of creativity, innovation and meaning in this bold new era of television and video with their entries this season, and exemplified the excellence the Telly Awards honors across all screens.
Congratulations.
